Description:

 

 DEFINITION
He/She will oversee student-athletes’ welfare, player eligibility, games
schedule, and game-site.  Under the direction of the Wellness Director and school principal, and in cooperation with the staff of the department,
he/she plans, coordinates and evaluates the athletic and fitness
programs; and serves as a school administrator.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that each varsity coach maintain an accurate inventory of equipment
    and materials, and file such an inventory with the principal at the conclusion of each season. 
  • Assist in the development of the game schedule of varsity and junior varsity sporting events.
  • Assist in securing games officials for all home events, and the coordination of transportation for all away sporting events.
  • Attend the orientation of all coaches regarding site and district policies, procedures and expectations; and ensures that all coaches comply with Massachusetts Charter School Athletic Organization (MCSAO) Rules and procedures.
  • Works closely with the Wellness Director, players, and parents to schedule athletic physicals and processes necessary forms. 
  • Serves as a liaison between the Wellness Department and parents (and other school constituents) to develop booster groups to support all athletic programs, and site administration.
  • Works closely with the staff and site administration to develop and enforce an athletic/academic code of conduct which is consistent with the goals of the staff, administration and the school.
  • Other activities determined by the department (Wellness Director) which are necessary to fulfill the duties of the position. 
  • Assist in the oversight of Wellness Department budget.
  • Support coaches in all fundraising efforts with players
     

Qualifications:

 Bachelor’s degree required with experience in school athletics and coaching.  Genuine understanding and commitment to the MCSAO.  Exhibit a solid knowledge and technical skills for the sport of baseball.  Possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills plus an ability to work with all constituencies of the school.  CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.  Demonstrate supervisory, fiscal, and management skills.  Exhibit strong organizational skills, and be detail oriented.  Show ability to handle a multi-task work environment.

Description:

 

Codman Academy is looking for a qualified candidate to tutor students in ESL for three hours a day Monday through Thursday. The students are at an early intermediate to intermediate level of English acquisition. There may be an opportunity for additional ESL instruction on Fridays.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify student abilities and target instruction to address the student’s needs in reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, and vocabulary development.
  • Keep student engaged and learning throughout.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Experience working with English Language Learners.
  • Massachusetts ESL endorsement or teaching license in ESL.

Preferred:

  • Experience with direct instruction of decoding and reading comprehension skills/training in Wilson Reading or Orton-Gillingham
  • Experience working with students with learning disabilities.

 

Compensation is negotiable based on experience.

Description:

SUMMARY:This is a part-time, staff position charged with coaching and managing the softball program.  The position is responsible for planning and executing a comprehensive program.

POSITIONRESPONSIBILITIES:

•     Responsibilities include but are not limited to, all aspects (in traditional and non-traditional seasons) of coaching, planning, directing, developing and managing a successful program conditioning, recruiting, scouting, scheduling, travel, equipment, budget management, fundraising, monitoring academic progress of student-athletes, etc.

•     In sure compliance with Massachusetts Charter School Athletic Organization
(MCSAO), conference and institutional policies and procedures

•     Know and adhere to all sport rules, regulation and code of ethics

•     Maintain certification for CPR/AED and First Aid

•     Recommend to hire, supervise and mentor assistant coach(es)

•     Coordinate and communicate all responsibilities with coaching staff

•     Make arrangements to prepare players for pre-season

•     Daily planning and implementing of practice

•     Daily evaluation of practice, players, tactical information, etc.

•     Coordination of recruiting: such as visitation to middle school contest,
 phone calls, arrange campus visits and meeting with prospects, etc.

•     Evaluate the season, student-athletes, coaching staff, player recognition
and nomination, etc.

•     Coordinate fundraising efforts with players, annual goal is \$300 which
will be used for team expenses and activities.
