Boston Marathon 2012!
Congratulations to Team Codman 2012!
We are so proud of our five Team Codman runners, who braved the 90 degree weather to run the 2012 Boston Marathon in support of Codman Academy, thanks to the generosity of the John Hancock Boston Marathon Non-Profit Program. Our amazing runners - Rebecca, Lawrence, Michael, Troy, and Sean - raised nearly $30,000 for our wellness and athletics program. Codman students and staff also braved the heat, traveling en masse to Mile 20 in Newton to make up the Codman Cheer Section and give our runners a boost before Heartbreak Hill. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better first year as a John Hancock marathon partner (well, maybe cooler weather), and we are already looking forward to next year!
In 2012, John Hancock has provided over 800 Boston Marathon bibs to select non-profit organizations throughout the community. The John Hancock Non-Profit Marathon Program provides organizations with a significant fundraising opportunity. Last year, John Hancock non-profit runners raised more than $5.3 million for over 90 different local organizations. For 27 years, John Hancock has been the principal sponsor of the Boston Marathon. We cannot thank John Hancock enough for inviting us to be a part of this program. Boston Marathon 2012, here we come!
