Saturday Classes

The Saturday Program

Codman Academy's Saturday program, which operates in the Fall and Spring trimesters, offers every student the opportunity to identify and pursue his or her own passions. While 9th and 10th grade students receive individualized tutoring in math and literacy, 11th and 12th grade students are able to select from a menu of elective courses taught by experienced and talented adjunct faculty including artist in residence, Joan Green. Saturday courses are graded according to the Saturday/Wellness class rubric. Parents are also invited to participate in Saturday classes on a space available basis. Recent courses include:

Saturday classes provide students the opportunity to make choices, to have meaningful adult relationships and to explore a wide range of learning opportunities. Saturday classes have produced a number of authentic products including:

Tutorial: As part of the Saturday Program, every 9th and 10th grade student receives 3 hours of individualized tutoring tutorial instruction in Mathematics and English Language Arts on Saturdays through the Tutors for All Program. This highly successful program, now in its 3rd year at Codman Academy, has dramatically improved student skills as measured by internal exams and the MCAS.
