Sustainability

Codman Academy is a small school with a big focus on sustainability. In our brand new LEED-certified building, we plan to have both indoor window gardens and an outdoor Teaching Garden. Implementing school gardens will be an important component of our holistic approach to education. The Teaching Garden will be a tool for our biology, chemistry, and nutrition courses as well as for a planned elective gardening/environment Saturday class.  It will also be a community space for Codman Square, an economically-challenged neighborhood which is sorely lacking in green space.
